In Aswan, I bob around on a felucca on the Nile or watch the boats glide past the green islands, round granite rocks and the desert in the background. Meanwhile, there are some boats that have some kind of logo on the sail. One boat, for example, seems to belong to an American fast food chain. The last two days I admire the impressive temples in Edfu, Luxor and Karnak, but I am squeezed in between thousands of other tourists. Only now did I realise how spoilt I had been on the rest of the trip…
