Columns, columns, columns… Roman ruins once again, but good ones. It’s always amazing what massive splendour buildings the Romans placed in the landscape. I particularly like the oval square lined with Ionic columns, which compensates for a kink in the visual appearance between the Temple of Zeus and the main street with Corinthian colonnades. The city could afford two theatres.
